Point of View & Dimensions

Point of View and Dimensions group contains Point of View settings which includes the Type of Hierarchy of the POV Dimensions and the default value and the other dimensions and their values. Default Point of View settings are the ones set for the Primary Source of the report. However, the admin can set limitations on the available Point of View by User/ User Group with the Point of View Security Filters.

Point of View

Setting	Description
Dimension	Dimensions which will be displayed in Point of View
Hierarchy	Hierarchy to be provided inside the Point of View drop down
Default Value	Default value for the dimension in the Point of View

Note: For the YER and PER dimension it is only allowed to set the initial value. It is not possible to set the Dimension Hierarchy for these dimensions.

Extra options for the POV are as follows:

Setting	Description
Full Hierachy	Takes original hierarchy from the used source system
Descendants of	selecting a member from the hierarchy will take the descendants of selected member, the selected member can be included or excluded
Use list	A list with members of the POV dimension can be used
Initial value	If 'Do not specify' is selected it will take over the member from a previous report or start at the top. The set to will always open the report on the selected member
Item label	Ticking the box gives the option to overwrite the dimension name with a custom description

Dimensions

List of all dimensions in the Cube with possibility to set the value to be considered for the Point of Views. Dimensions which appear as selectable Point of Views over the report are disabled (the first three light grey dimensions in picture below). If a value of a dimension is changed from the default it will appear in light blue (see budget). By clicking on the gear associated to the row the admin can reset it to the default value. In order to reset all dimensions to their default values, click on ‘Reset to defaults’ over the dimensions grid.
