System Settings

Introduction

The system settings dialog allows you to set all technical parameters that are required to connect to a Source System.

Two types of source systems can be distinguished:

  • Adapter: Source systems that require an CXO-Cockpit application adapter
  • Direct: Source systems that can queried directly with MDX

System Settings Dialog Features and Functions

#NameDescription
1Add Source SystemThis button allows you to add a new source system, a new empty tab will appear.
2Delete Source SystemRemoves the source system of the current selected tab. A source system can only be removed when there are no CXO Objects connected to this source system.
3Rename Source SystemRenames the source system. Source system names are used for identification purposes in the CXO Design Studio.
4Source Systems - tabsEvery source system has its own tab with configuration fields.
5Use Application ConnectorThis field indicates if the source system integrated with an adapter or if it is queried directly.

9OLAP Actions
  • Check: Checks if the OLAP connection can be made

The following actions are only enabled for adapter (non-direct) source systems that use SSAS as OLAP version:

  • Create New: Creates a new OLAP database
  • Process: Processes the OLAP Cube
  • Update: Rebuilds the OLAP model and applies the calculated members
  • Cube Calculations: Opens a maintenance screen where custom MDX cube calculations can be maintained

The following actions are only enabled for direct source systems:

  • Dimension Split: Allows you to split an OLAP dimension into two or more CXO-Cockpit dimensions
  • Dimension Mapping: Allows you to map the OLAP dimensions to CXO-Cockpit dimension codes
  • Period Frequency: Defines how the period structure should be interpreted.
