Introduction

The Multiple Scenario Analysis Control is designed to give the maximum amount of information about one single account in a Chart format. For the selected account values are shown using multiple scenarios for the selected year in a series of Bars and Lines.

Parameters

The report parameters define the look & feel and behaviour of the control. On the screenshot below you can see the parameters numbers. These numbers refer to the parameters as displayed in the Basic Parameters and Advanced Parameters table.

1. Item Selector

Yes

A list of items that will be used as a Pick List in the report. Each item can be a combination of members from the dimensions associated with the list. Usually, the Account dimension is used. The pick luist defines which which account or other Dimension Member is analysed.

2. Scenarios

Yes

The Scenarios list defines the series of the chart. For each Line, Bar or Area a list item is required. The following 5 paramaters refer to Items from this List. The list items that are not referred in the following 5 parameters will be automatically put in the reference catagory selector which determines the (orange) Area Chart (See 2. In the screenshot)

3. Until Current Period

No

Defines the light blue bars in the chart. The light blue bars are shown for the periods that equal or are before the current period. Normally this chart series is filled with actuals current year.

4. Beyond Current Period

No

Defines the dark blue bars in the chart. The light blue bars are shown for the future periods. Normally this chart series is filled with a forecast or budget category.

5-7 Line 1,2,3

No

Defines the chart series for the three lines in the chart. The lines can be used to show scenarios from the Scenarios list, selected for parameter number two. (ie. previous year, yearend forecast, rolling forecast, etc.)

8. Time Series

Yes

List of items that determines the X-axis of the chart; usually a Time-series associated with the Year and the Period dimension.

9. Default Selected Item

Indicates the Item from the pick list that will be selected / highlighted upon opening of the report

10. External Item Selector

An external control which will be used as an item selector for this control

11. Legend Position

Yes

Defines the position of the chart legend (Bottom, Right, etc.)

12. Legend Size

Yes

Defines the legend size which is the percentage of the chart size. This setting will be ignored if the legend position is set to Do not show.

13. Labels Intersect Action

Yes

Select the action that will be undertake to prevent overlapping X-axis labels (wrap, rotate...etc.)

14. Rotate Labels

Yes

When the Labels Intersect Action is set to None ( see above) then the orientation of labels can be chosen here from the options (clockwise, Countertclockwise,Horizontal)

15. Scale

Yes

Defines the scaling used in the report (Millions, Thousands, Unchanged, etc.)

16. Precision

Yes

Defines the number of decimals used for presenting the number.
