Introduction

A Template is a pre-defined layout with fixed objects such as Main Table, Trend Chart, Variance Chart, Breakdown Table, etc. They offer functionalities such as  drill-down, expanding hierarchies, etc. All Templates have a Menu-bar and a Point of View selector bar. This makes it very easy to quickly create a wide variety of Reports. It is possible to create a Report from a Template and inherit all default settings. It is also possible to deviate from the Template defaults by selecting different dimensions, different lists, different parameters etc.

In addition to the pre-defined templates there is also a Free Format Template that allows the users to design their own layout.

Parameters and Dimensions

Together with the Template Report Parameters, the Report Dimensions define the look & feel and behavior of the reports. Use the template Report Dimensions to define the following:

• The way the report queries the data from the Source Systems
• The way the Point of View bar is configured
• The way the Point of View Comments are stored
