Drill List

Introduction

Any list item can contain a drilldown list. Drilling down from one list item to another list is only supported in the Financial Statement template, the Multi-Column template and the Home Page template. In the report a '+' sign will appear so the user know there is a drill down available. There are two types of drills: Drill List & Dynamic Drill.

Drill List

A fixed drill list is a normal list that can be attached as a drill to a list item. The dimensionality of the drill list must be the same as the main list. There is no need for a hierarchical relation between the members of the main list and the drill list.

Example:

Dynamic Drill

A dynamic drill makes use of the hierarchical relation between members. The following options exist for setting dymamic drills:

Type

Description

Children Inclusive

The list will contain all child members of the specified parent. At the end of the list the parent member itself will be added formatted as sum.

Children Exclusive

The list will contain all child members of the specified parent.

Descendants Inclusive

The list will contain all child members of the specified parent. Each list item that is based on parent member will get the same type of drill list attached. At the end of the list the parent member itself will be added formatted as sum.

Descendants Exclusive

The list will contain all child members of the specified parent. Each list item that is based on parent member will get the same type of drill list attached.

Base Inclusive

The list will contain all base/leaf members of the specified parent. At the end of the list the parent member itself will be added formatted as sum.

Base Exclusive

The list will contain all base/leaf members of the specified parent.

In the drill down result of a dynamic drill a total line item with a sum Format will be automatically added.

Note:If a list uses more than one dimension, then the dimension that should be used for drilling needs to be specified. This can be specified at the list item member level using the 'Drill Dimension' attribute.

Inline Drill

You also have the option to use inline drills in a report. These are the drills which are displayed in the same report area together with the rest of the row items.

The use of inline drills is set in the Design Studio report parameters per report.

When you use inline drills in the report, which inlcudes variance column, the variances for the drill members will also be displayed in the same report area:
