Ranking Template

Introduction

This template is used to provide a ranking analysis for a selected item eg account from a pre defined list across any other dimension eg. Entity. Up to 2 items can be shown in the main panel at the same time and the top x rows and the bottom x number of rows will be shown for each main item selected. The two side panels show an analysis of a selected row from each of the 2 main panels over a selected number of time periods.

Parameters

The report parameters define the look & feel and behaviour of a report. On the screenshot below you can see the parameters numbers. These numbers refer to the parameters as displayed in the Basic Parameters and Advanced Parameters table. Next to basic and advanced parameters there are also Generic Report Parameters

Basic Parameters

Parameter

DescriptionMandatory

1. Top

This list defines the main selectable iems for top main panel in the report. The items contained in the list must be analyzable by the dimension specified in the Breakdown By parameter.Yes
2. BottomThis list defines the main selectable items for bottom main panel in the report. The items contained in the list must be analysable by the dimension specified in the Breakdown By parameter.Yes
3. Reference CategoriesA list of items that will be used as Reference Categories in the report. Each item can be a combination of members from the dimensions associated with the list (usually Category, Year and/or Period. Formulas are not allowed.Yes

Advanced Parameters

ParameterDescriptionMandatory
4. Default Selected Item TopThe default item from the list that will be displayed in the top main panel. It will be an item contained in the list defined in parameter 1. TopYes

5. Side Trend Top

List of items that determines the X-axis of the trend in the side-controls in the top right side panel (usually associated with the Year and the Period dimension).

No

6. Default Selected Item BottomThe default item from the list that will be displayed in the bottom main panel. It will be an item contained in the list defined in parameter 3. BottomYes

7. Side Trend Bottom

List of items that determines the X-axis of the trend in the side-controls in the bottom right side panel (usually associated with the Year and the Period dimension).

Yes

8. Label Base Category

Dynamic Label that can combine the description of dimension-members and free text. The member-description can be obtained by putting the 3-character dimension abbreviation between square brackets (e.g., [CAT] for the Category dimension). Note: When using free text, don't use the "[" or "]" characters as these are reserved for Dynamic Label Expressions.

Yes

9. Breakdown By

With this parameter you can select the dimension for which you want to see the descendants at the right-side or bottom of the report. In case of the Waterfall-chart it determines the nature of the movements or variance components. In case of the Ranking template it shows the ranking dimension.

Yes

10. Default Ranked By

Specifies the ranking criterion. You can enter 'Variance', 'Variance %', 'Actual' (or any other Category specified in the Dimension Settings) or 'Budget' (or any other reference category specified for parameter 'ReferenceCategory'.

No

11. Base / DirectSelect Base if you want to see the base-members (or leaf-members) under a certain parent-node (parent Entity, Product group, etc.). Choose Direct if you want to see the direct descendants (1st generation child-members).Yes
12. Reverse SignIn some underlying systems, costs are input as a negative income. By default, a graph would also show negative values, which makes the graphs less intuitive. The CXO-Cockpit therefore allows for reversing the sign for the purpose of showing such costs as positive values. The financial intelligence (evaluation of green/red) remains intact.Yes

13. Variance Percentage Precision

Defines the number of decimals used for presenting the Variance Percentage values.Yes
14. Maximum Ranking CountSet the maximum number of items that will be shown in the ranking list ie to show the top or bottom 9 members set the parameter at 9.Yes
15. Initial Ranking CountSet the number of items that will be shown in the ranking list ie to show the top or bottom 4 members set the parameter at 4.Yes
16. Variance ThresholdSet the number of items that will be shown in the ranking list ie to show the top or bottom 4 members set the parameter at 4.Yes
