Client side chart animation and exporting

A zoom selector has been added to all charts type allowing users to expand areas of charts to more easily visualize the details.  This is especially useful when there are a large number of items charted or when variances are small.  It is available in all templates with bar, bridge, line, portfolio or waterfall charts including free-form templates with these components.

In addition, users now have the capability to Export individual chart images (including an image that has been expanded using the zoom feature) to a .PNG, .JPG or .SVG file.  The images can then be easily included in a more easily customized presentation, website, annual report, etc.

Open all and collapse all drill levels

Users can now expand and collapse all drill levels with a single mouse-click in tables using inline drills.

Table improvements (skip after, column width)

The Skip attribute in Formats now includes options for Before, After and BeforeAndAfter in addition to None.

In previous releases, the Skip Attribute allowed two options, Yes and No.  With Yes, a line above the row was left blank.

Significant enhancements have been made to the Column Width functionality minimizing adjustments the administrator makes to create a table with columns having the same width.  Tables display without cutting off row descriptions, column header descriptions or data within the table and the administrator still has full control over the way the table displays.

The new Column Width capability is based on the following rules:

  • ·         Width not set - The columns refers to other data columns that have no width set and will all have the same width as the column that has the largest width to display its column header description and data without cutting off either one.
  • ·         Width set in pixels - The column will respect this width unless the data inside the column does not fit, in which case the application makes the column wider to display the complete data.
  • ·         Width is set in % - The % value is weighting factor against other percentage width columns. Columns will always display the complete data.

Locking and unlocking Descendant narratives

Users with the Narrative Role of Locker are allowed to lock or freeze the commentary/narratives for a particular Point of View (POV) or Narrative Key, preventing any further editing.  Users with the Locker Narrative Role now have the additional capability allowing to Lock Descendants - the commentary/narratives for all Descendants of the current Point of View.  And users with the Unlocker Narrative Role can Unlock Descendants.

Store narratives on dimensions with lists in the point of view

In release 5.0.1 we added capability to use lists in the Point of View bar, extending the concept of guided analysis allowing CXO Captains to hide any irrelevant point of view members or even join multiple dimensions in one single point of view selector.  These lists can be single or multidimensional.  Read more about this new feature in the List in POV article.

http://lib.cxo-cockpit.com/wiki/List_in_POV

With this release we are allowing narratives to be stored based on the member(s) and dimension(s) represented in a Point of View list.  In the case of multi-dimensional Point of View lists, both dimension values would be part of the Narrative Key.

Dimensions leveraging POV (Point of View) Lists can now be included in the Narrative Key used to define which dimensions(s) and member(s) are used to store the Point of View Comments.

Unlimited custom dimensions

Applications leveraging Oracle Essbase, SAP Business Warehouse (BW) or Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) now have no limit on the number of custom dimension that can be added to the application.

Passive POV update

Active POV update

A new Application Setting allows users to make selections from multiple dimensions in the Point of View and then click on button to the right of the Point of View bar to apply all Point of View changes once rather than running a new query after each Point of View selection.  This additional control is especially useful for large applications.

Active Preview Refresh in CXO Design Studio

The Automatic Preview Refresh can be turned off so that multiple changes to a report can be saved without waiting for the Preview to refresh after each change.  The Preview can then be actively refreshed using the Refresh Preview button in the toolbar.

Restructure of the line item comments

Line Item Comments allow adding comments at the level of individual line items in a report.  The Comments are now linked to the members represented by the Point of View and Report dimensions.

Mobile POV menu improvement

The CXO-Mobile app has improved the ease of use in making Point of View selections, significantly reducing the time and steps required.

Multi-source support for the Home Page report

Home Page reports can now leverage the capability to have a single report based on different data sources.

Dynamically link the scope dimension

Enabling Name-property with variables in Cube Calculations

The Name-property of dimension members is now available when using @DIM_ variables in Cube Calculations.  This is useful in some SAP implementations to dynamically link the Scope dimension.
