Format Attributes
The format maintenance screen contains basic and advanced attributes. The basic attributes are the ones that are most common to use. Press the advanced button in the Maintenance Screen to see all attributes including the advanced.
Basic Attributes
Attribute | Description |
---|---|
Name | The name should be something that is easy to recognize when building report like: Default_bold_underline |
Font Style | The font style can be one of the following: Normal, Bold, Underline and Italic |
Font Size | The font size defines the size of the font to be applied, the default Font size is 14 pixels (if a value is not set this will be the default) |
Fore Color | The forecolor defines the color of the text |
Backcolor | The backcolor defines the color of the background |
Indent | The indent attribute defines the number of blank spaces before to put in front of the List Item. This attribute is only supported for: Rows List. |
Skip | When the skip is set to: Yes, the line above will be left blank. This attribute is only supported for: Rows List |
Line before | When Default is selected: a column will be displayed with a line on the left side, a row will be displayed without lines |
Scale | The scale defines how the numbers should be scaled. |
Precision | Defines the number of decimals used for presenting the number. Options are 0-10. |
Vertical Align | Defines how the column header should be aligned vertically. Options are: Top, Middle, Bottom. This attribute is only supported for: Columns List. |
Horizontal Align | Defines how the column header should be aligned horizontally. Options are: Left, Middle, Right. This attribute is only supported for: Columns List. |
Advanced Attributes
The advanced attributes are only supported for the list type Pick List and only for those Pick Lists that are used to create customized formatted charts like on Multiple Bar & Line Charts reports.
Attribute | Description |

Chart Bar Style | Defines the style of the bars in the chart. Click on the type to see the different options. |
Chart Dash Style | Defines if the line is dashed and what kind of dash. Click on the type to see the different options. |
Chart Line Style | Defines how the line should drawn. Click on the type to see the different options. |
Chart Line Width | Defines the line width in pixels. |
Chart Series Color | Defines the color of the chart series. If you don't pick any color, the chart will use autocoloring. |
Chart Shape Type | Defines the type of the chart series. Click on the type to see the different options. |
Chart Shape Size | Defines the shape of the chart. |
Chart Shape Color | Defines the color of the shape. If you don't pick any color, the chart will use autocoloring. |
Below you can find an example of an unformatted report:
Now, let's say, you want to modify this report by adding some formatting. On the example below the following formatting is applied:
- For Columns headers - Forecolor and Backcolor are modified
- For Columns "12 Month Total" and "12 Month Avg" - Font style and Backcolor are modified
- For Rows headers "Gross Sales, Total", "Net Sales, Total", "Gross Margin, Total" - Forecolor, Backcolor, Font Size and Font Style are modified
- For Rows "Net Sales, Total", "Gross Margin, Total" - Line Above is applied
