Dimension variables are used to as a substitute for a Dimension Member. The objectives of dimension variables are:
- Reduce system maintenance by replacing many frequently used dimension members with variables. If ever the defaults default values change, only the variable value needs to changebe updated.
- Make the initial rollout of the cockpit roll-out of CXO-Cockpit faster. The initial setup of CXO-Cockpit only uses variables and no dimension members. By just correcting the dimension variable values, every report and template should work correctly.
