System Settings
Introduction
The system settings dialog allows you to set all technical parameters that are required to connect to a Source Systems.
Two types of source systems can be distinguished:
- Adapter: Source systems that require an CXO-Cockpit application adapter
- Direct: Source systems that can queried directly with MDX
System Settings Dialog Features and Functions

1 | Add Source System | This button allows you to add a new source system, a new empty tab will appear. |
2 | Delete Source System | Removes the source system of the current selected tab. A source system can only be removed when there are no CXO Objects connected to this source system. |
3 | Rename Source System | Renames the source system. Source system names are used for identification purposes in the CXO Design Studio. |
4 | Source Systems -Â tabs | Every source system has its own tab with configuration fields. |
5 | Use Application Connector | This field indicates if the source system integrated with an adapter or if it is queried directly. |
6 | CXO Staging database | Specifies the staging database of the adapter. These fields are not used for direct source systems. |
7 | CXO Fact Database | Specifies the fact database of the adapter. These fields are not used for direct source systems. |
8 | OLAP Connection | Specifies what OLAPÂ plugin is used and how to connect to the OLAPÂ database. |

The following actions are only enabled for adapter (non-direct) source systems that use SSAS as OLAP version:

10 | Relational database connection | By entering relational database connection information you will be able to replace custom descriptions in lists with values from a SQL database. Read more about this functionality in the Relational Database Connection for Custom Descriptions article. |
