CXO-Cockpit End-user Frequently Asked Questions

When using the Proprietary Authentication provider passwords can be changed. There can be two reasons to change a password:

• Password has expired
• User wants a different password

On the login screen press "change password"

Enter username, the current password, the new password and press "Change Password and Login". The system will change the password and will automatically login.

When a new user is logging into the application for the first time, he will be asked to change his password, too:

Please, note that this will only happen if in CXO-Designer > Users > <user>, this user has "User Must Change Password" tick attribute:

Within the CXO-Cockpit website you can save a PowerPoint slide as a Bookmark and make it part of Storyboard.

In order to do this follow these steps:

1. Open the PowerPoint presentation
2. Navigate to the required slide
3. Select "Save as" from the File menu
4. Type in the file name and choose "PNG Portable Network Graphics Format" in Save as Type, then click Save
5. Then you might get a popup with a question whether you want to export every slide or only the current slide. Choose "Current Slide Only"
6. Then go to a CXO-Cockpit HTML Upload Report, choose the generated PNG file and upload it.
7. After that you can create the bookmark of this report and add it to your storyboard.

In order to display an image file in the a storyboard you can follow steps 5 to 7.

When you have been sent a CXO-Cockpit bookmark email that does not open correctly, the following could be the cause:

You don't have access rights to the report that was sent to you

You need to have access rights to the bookmarked report. Check with the sender of the bookmark, what report was used and check if you see this report in the menu.

You don't have access rights to one of the bookmarked POV members

It could be that somebody has sent you a bookmark with POV members that your security settings don't allow you to select. In this case CXO-Cockpit will automatically select the top member from that dimension. Check with the sender of the bookmark

Configuration errors

When the CXO-Cockpit website after clicking the bookmark URL does not open at all or opens with technical errors, it could be that there is a configuration error. Contact the Administrator in this case.

Export jobs are processed asynchronously by the CXO-Cockpit Export Service. When your export job does not get processed it could be that the CXO-Cockpit Export Service is not operational. When an export job fails it could be that the CXO-Cockpit Export Service is configured incorrectly.

In both cases contact your Administrator.

It can happen that you do not see all reports in a Storyboard that was sent to you.

The likely cause is that your security profile is different from the security profile of the sender of the Storyboard.

Contact your Administrator for more information.

When opening an exported Microsoft Excel file you can get a warning that the file is in a different format than specified by the file extension.
You can ignore this warning. The CXO-Cockpit Export Service generates a XML file with XLS extension, any version of Microsoft Excel as of 2003 should be able to deal with this file format.

CXO-Cockpit supports the market leading web browsers including:
• Internet Explorer (version 8 and higher)
• Mozilla Firefox (version 3 and higher)
• Apple Safari (version 5 and higher)
• Google Chrome (version 8 and higher)
• Opera (version 10 and higher)

If one of the following occurs:

• I try to create a new bookmark and add it to a Storyboard, but I do not see the Storyboard in the list.
• I want to change the order of Storyboard items, but I do not see the Edit button on the selected Storyboard item.
• I want to change the name or print orientation, but I do not see the Edit button on the selected Storyboard item.

You are probably not the owner of the Storyboard.

Use the Copy Storyboard functionality to create a copy that you own. After copying you become the owner and can change the Storyboard items and add bookmarks.

If you do not see the same dimension members in the CXO-Cockpit Point of View Bar as in your source system, the following could be the case:

• Not all dimension members got loaded from the Source system
• Security settings prevent you from seeing the whole dimension
• The POV Bar is limited to a certain level of the dimension hierarchy

Check with your Administrator if one of these reasons can be the cause.

The CXO-Cockpit Administrator is the administrator of the CXO-Cockpit Reporting Suite. The Administrator has the following tasks:

• Design, build and maintain reports
• Setup and maintain user security
• Setup and execute Source system integration
• Communicate with end-users:
  • Setup News Items
  • Distribute Storyboards through email
  • Distribute CXO-Views through email
• etc

Most tasks of the Administrator can be accomplished using the CXO-Designer.
