Shared members with missing descendants in Essbase

Issue

In the POV, descendants of a parent member show the first time the member appears in the hierarchy, but in case of subsequent appearance(s) of the (shared) member the member appears to be a base member with no descendants.

Solution

In case of an Essbase cube as source system, apply the following custom set expression to retrieve meta data in the dimension mapping: @IDESCENDANTS(“Member name”). The member used should be the top parent of the hierarchy that should be available in the CXO-Cockpit.
