Waterfall

This Waterfall template comes, as all the other templates, fully standard with the library of templates within the CXO-Cockpit.  Reports built with the Waterfall template are used to analyze the variance between two Periods or Categories for an Account.  See an example below:

  1. The Waterfall shows the positive or negative contribution of an Entity or any analytical dimension member to the variance between Budget and Actual for an Account. This can be a change between any Categories within a month or a change over a range of time periods. When you click on one of bars the waterfall will drill down one level in the member hierarchy if available and show details for that member in the bar charts on the right. In this example we are looking at the Net Sales Account that you can select and change using a pick list (1A).
  2. With this button you can choose whether you view the data in the Waterfall graph from a Base Member perspective (lowest level in hierarchy) or from an aggregated Direct Member perspective (in this example the children of Entity - Comma Communications Inc.).
  3. You can select compared Categories, by using a pick list
  4. With this button you can switch between Regular view and Zoom View. The Regular view shows the Waterfall with X-axis from zero to the highest value and Zoom highlights the area where the actual variance occurs.
  5. The top right trend chart shows the Account (1A) for the dimensions in the POV in two Categories for the current and previous 5 months. You can look for further details by clicking on any bar behind an account in the waterfall and choose show detail or drill down. The displayed Categories can be changed in the Report settings.
  6. The bottom right trend chart shows the Variance. You can choose between Variance in absolute values or percent.
