Introduction

The login dialog is used to login to the CXO-Design Studio and the CXO-Excel Add-In.

Login

In case of the Active Directory Security provider, you will have to fill in your domain, domain user and password. Then press the login button to proceed.

In case of the Proprietary Security provider, you fill in your cxo user id and password. Then press the login button to proceed.

Add Application

When adding an /wiki/spaces/CXO52/pages/30310485 there is no application created. This functionality only adds an existing application to the configuration file.

In order to add an application take the following steps:

1. Select <Add application....> from the source list
2. Enter a name for the application, this name will be used for the source dropdown list
3. Enter the name (& instance) of the SQL server that contains the /wiki/spaces/CXO52/pages/30310604 database
4. Enter the name of the repository database, it will be filled by default with cxo_repository_ + application name, change the default if required
5. Select an authentication mode to connect to SQL, check this with your DBA
6. In case of proprietary SQL authentication enter the database user and password
7. Press OK to add the application

Update Application

The update application functionality allows you to change the properties of the /wiki/spaces/CXO52/pages/30310604 database. It does not allow you to rename or reorder the application.In order to change the name or order of an application, you will have to remove the application and add it again.

Remove Application

The remove application functionality does not delete the actual /wiki/spaces/CXO52/pages/30310485, but it removes the application registration from the configuration file. If you really want to delete an application you will have to manually remove all the SQL and OLAP databases that were used by the application.

Create a New Application

Note: this option is not available from the CXO-Excel Add-In

When you create a new application, a new SQL /wiki/spaces/CXO52/pages/30310604 database is generated, the registration details will be added to the application configuration file.

The user name and password that are filled in the login dialog will be used to create the CXO-Cockpit Captain /wiki/spaces/CXO52/pages/30310476 account.

In order to create an application take the following steps:

1. Enter a user name and password
2. Select <Create new application....> from the source list
3. Enter a name for the application, this name will be used for the source drop-down list
4. Enter the name (& instance) of the SQL server that contains the repository database
5. Enter the name of the repository database, it will be filled by default with cxo_repository_ + application name, change the default if required
6. Select an authentication mode to connect to SQL, please note that the account specified will be automatically the db owner, please make sure that the CXO-Cockpit Website can use the same account.
7. In case of proprietary SQL authentication enter the database user and password
8. Press OK to create the application
